Pack for...Amsterdam

My last trip while I lived in Madrid brought me to the beautiful and fun city of Amsterdam. Even though I visited the lovely city at the end of June the weather still seemed as though it was mid-fall. To keep my toes and ankles  from freezing I layered socks under my ballet flats and wore two sweaters under my jacket. To stay cute, warm, & flirty my top essentials would be:

blazer; whether the weather is warm or cool (the thickness of the blazer would alter) you will still love cute and polished
dress; id prefer a dress that can easily be layered in a solid color i.e. a shirt dress
tights; they keep you warm, comfortable, & looking fabulous all at once
oxford shoes; with the cobblestone streets and bike riding oxford shoes have you comfortable all day long
scarf; a light weight scarf keeps you looking fashionable and warm

Never A Dull Day Interview

When I traveled to Amsterdam a few weekends ago I met the wonderful people behind Never A Dull Day. They were so sweet and easy-going I really enjoyed meeting and talking to them. Yesterday, they posted the interview from our meeting and I couldn't have been any happier with it! I hope you enjoy it! (To view the full interview just click the link)

Do you think I deserve to be nominated for the New Fashion Blogger Award?

Eats; Amsterdam

Amsterdam's fries with mayo

FEBO - the drunken hot spot (I couldn't get myself to eat anything)

Along with friendly people, canals, and tiny adorable houses & shops, are amazing places to eat. Food in Amsterdam is inspired from all over the world so you can get a taste of everything and anything you want. Each restaurant is a treat with the themes and atmosphere of the place is it influenced by. Since the inability to visit cozy cafes in Madrid, I had to stick to small cafes while I was able to.

My favorite "eats" spots:

Stout - Try their tasting menu, you get 5 small bites of their appetizers, main course, and dessert at a fixed price. With my dislike for my most sea food I opted for the raviolis filled with cheese & bell peppers and parmesan sauce.
greek salad at Spanjer en van twist
much needed hot chocolate

Spanjer en van twist- after being rained on this cozy cafe & restaurant was perfect for a light snack and afternoon hot chocolate. One bite of their greek salad make me feel like I was in Greece.

Da Bakkerswinkel

De Bakkerswinkel- my favorite spot for breakfast (which is usually around lunch time-oops!) the homemade scones and jams are incredible and the atmosphere is the frosting on the cake

Amsterdam you stole my heart

Even though I was not expecting the cold weather and was completely under dressed I fell in love with Amsterdam. The city is full of character, life, and the nicest people I have ever met. I always felt welcome, could find my way, and no matter where I wanted to go it was just a short walk or tram ride. I chose a casual outfit to sight-see and enjoy the city and to keep my feet warm from the cold I wore my knee-high socks under my jeans and flats.
