Boston Fashion Week: Second Time Around

I was lucky enough to be a part of Boston's Fashion Week. My first show was yesterday and was happy that it was for Second Time Around; a store that sells second hand low end and high end clothes. The event took place at the gorgeous W Hotel where my boyfriend and I were hesitant and eager to book a room for the night. Each model was styled by The Stylist's Closets own Terri Mahn. Sequins, lace, short vests, and even bright red converses strutted up and down the runway. It was a night of fashion, styling, cocktails, and shopping all in one.    

Tuve la suerte de ser parte de la Semana de la Moda de Boston. Mi primer concierto fue ayer y estaba feliz de que lo fue para Second Time Around, una tienda que vende final de segunda mano baja y la ropa de gama alta. El evento tuvo lugar en el magnífico Hotel W donde mi novio y yo estábamos indecisos y con ganas de reservar una habitación para pasar la noche. Cada modelo fue diseñado por Closets El estilista propio Mahn Terri. Lentejuelas, encajes, chalecos cortos, e incluso de color rojo brillante conversos se pavoneaba por toda la pista. Fue una noche de moda, estilo, cócteles y tiendas, todo en uno.

Last week Boston contributed in Fashion Night Out. It was an amazing night full of cocktails, sweets, and late night shopping. I enjoyed myself and was more than happy to be a part of the event. I had to get myself a Fashion Night Out tee-shirt since the proceeds went to AIDS. How did you spend your Fashion Night Out?

La semana pasada en Boston contribuyó Fashion Night Out. Fue una noche increíble llena de cócteles, dulces, y la noche de compras. Me divertí y estaba más que feliz de ser parte del evento. Tuve que ponerme una noche fuera de moda camiseta ya que los beneficios fueron a causa del AIDS.

Velvet Days

When I first heard of Alexa Chung's collaboration with Madewell I was both excited and nervous (for my wallet). Since she has been on the scene I always admired both her hair and style which she has imported from her hometown of England. Her line is made of peter pan collars, heavy yet structured coats, and fall shorts. As soon as I touched her pindot velvet blouse I fell in love with the fabric and knew it was a piece I needed on a cold winter day with a hot chocolate in my hand by the fireplace.

Cuando escuché por primera vez de la colaboración con Alexa Chung Madewell yo estaba entusiasmado y nervioso (para mi cartera). Desde que esta en la escena siempre he admirado tanto su pelo y el estilo que ha importado de su tierra natal, Inglaterra. Su línea es de peter pan cuellos, abrigos pesados todavía estructurado, y pantalones cortos de otoño. Tan pronto como tocó la blusa de terciopelo pindot me enamoré de la tela y sabía que era una pieza que necesitaba en un frío día de invierno con un chocolate caliente en la mano junto a la chimenea.

Plaid For Me

I have never been one to wear plaids especially as an oxford button up because of the simple reason that it reminds me of a farm girl instead of the city girl that I am. When I found this plaid top from the Gap I knew it was for me with the soft colors and ruffles. I wore it to shop up and down the streets of Newbury to peak at Alexa Chung's collaboration with Madewell. I was in love with all her pieces and could not go home without one.   

Nunca he sido de los que usan cuadros, especialmente como un botón de Oxford para arriba debido a la sencilla razón de que me recuerda a una niña de la granja en lugar de la chica de ciudad que soy. Cuando encontré esta camiseta a cuadros de la Brecha sabía que era para mí con los colores suaves y volantes. Yo lo llevaba a la tienda de arriba abajo las calles de Newbury llegar al máximo a la colaboración con Alexa Chung Madewell. Yo estaba enamorado de todas sus piezas y no podía volver a casa sin él.

Lately I have been itching to do something different yet subtle with my long locks. As each day goes on I find myself falling in the love with bangs. They are cute, chic, and a cute change to my normal hair. I am currently obsessed with the four styles posted above. I wish I could have all four & look as perfect as they do.

Últimamente he estado con ganas de hacer algo diferente y sutil con mis cabellos largos. Con cada día que pasa me encuentro cayendo en el amor con flequillo. Ellos son lindos, más elegantes, y un cambio a mi lindo cabello normal. Actualmente estoy obsesionado con los cuatro estilos escrito previamente. Ever since I moved back to school last week I have been living in my own boyfriend button-ups (example). My favorite is my jean colored one from J.Crew, it is the perfect combination of comfort and chic casualness from my busy days of classes, homework, study groups, and coffee dates. I even fall asleep in the oversized button-up on my breaks or during my favorite television shows (yes, at times I can’t even stay up to finish the whole episode). There are so many ways to wear this one piece and I enjoy mixing and matching different shoes, belts, and accessories. How do you wear your boyfriend oxford?

Desde que regresó a la escuela la semana pasada he estado viviendo en mi propio novio botón-ups (también se ve aquí). Mi favorito es mi jean de color de J. Crew, que es la combinación perfecta de comodidad y despreocupación chic de mi días de gran afluencia de clases, tareas, grupos de estudio, y las fechas de café. Yo incluso quedarse dormido en el botón de gran tamaño-para arriba en mis descansos y durante mis programas favoritos de televisión (sí, a veces ni siquiera puedo estar al terminar el episodio). As the trees suddenly changed from summer to fall I moved from my city life to a suburban one. With the change of scenery came a change in my day to day activities that are filled with classes and short drives (instead of walks) to grab my daily latte. As the weather changed my wardrobe also did and I have shifted from sun-dresses to boyfriend oxfords. They keep me feeling both casual and smart as though I stole my boyfriend's brain along with his shirt.

Como los árboles cambió repentinamente de verano a otoño me mudé de mi vida suburbana de la ciudad a un uno. Con el cambio de escenario se produjo un cambio en mi día a día las actividades que se llenan con las clases y las unidades de corta duración (en lugar de caminar) para agarrar mi café con leche todos los días. A medida que el tiempo ha cambiado mi guardarropa también hice y han pasado de sol vestidos de oxfords novio. Me mantienen sentir tanto casual y elegante como si me robaron el cerebro de mi novio junto con su camisa.

Cafe Gitane, New York City

When I took my short trip to New York City I was introduced to Cafe Gitane in NoLita; the cutest neighborhood with small shops, cafes, and Magnolia Cupcakes. Their iced cappuccino kicked my daily iced lattes butt and I was immediately hooked. I visited the cafe everyday I was in town and ended up dragging my boyfriend for a late night cappuccino and quick bite as our last taste of the city.

Cuando tomé mi corto viaje a Nueva York me presentaron a Cafe Gitane en Nolita. Su cappuccino helado pateado el culo todos los días café con leche helado y me engancharon de inmediato. Visité el café todos los días me encontraba en la ciudad y terminó arrastrando a mi novio por un capuchino noche y comer algo rápido como nuestro último gusto de la ciudad.

Every girl should own a little black dress. It is the call of chic, sexiness. With a little black dress one can accessorize to their fullest and showcase their personal style and stylist within them. I wear black whenever I can, it has to be my favorite color to showcase who I am.

Todas las chicas deberían tener un pequeño vestido negro. Es la llamada de la sensualidad elegante. Con un pequeño vestido negro se puede personalizar al máximo y mostrar su estilo personal y estilista en su interior. Me visten de negro cada vez que puedo, tiene que ser mi color preferido para mostrar quién soy.

Every time I am in the "city of lights" my hearts pounds with both love and excitement of the fast paced, fashion forward, busy streets of New York City. While enjoying the city I got the pleasure of going to Ken & Dana Design's new Graffiti 2.0 launch party. The room was filled with gorgeous pieces made of gun parts, bangles with written graffiti, and chains on top of chains. When I found my black chained necklace with a variety of stacked gold boxes I knew it was the perfect piece for my fall wardrobe.

Cada vez que estoy en la ciudad de la luz "mis libras corazones con amor y entusiasmo del delantero de moda de ritmo rápido,, calles muy transitadas de la ciudad de Nueva York. Mientras disfruta de la ciudad tengo el placer de ir a Ken y Diseño de Dana nueva Graffiti 2,0 fiesta de lanzamiento. La sala estaba llena de preciosas piezas hechas de partes de armas, brazaletes con graffiti escrito, y las cadenas en la parte superior de las cadenas. Cuando encontré mi collar negro encadenado con una variedad de cajas de oro apilados supe que era la pieza perfecta para mi guardarropa de otoño.

For the most part I am a very organized person especially when I travel; I know exactly what outfits I have packed, where I am going, and what I want to see. But, this trip to New York City was different. Since I got home from Madrid my life has felt very busy and hectic so I wanted to take this mini vacation and spend it with my boyfriend. I decided my itinerary would consist of casual shopping and stopping in my favorite places which I missed the most sprinkled with a few meetings and showrooms. Magnolia Bakery is one of the places on that list because each time I go I feel home and the cupcakes just hit the spot. I love grabbing which ever cupcake I am in the mood for and sitting in the park to eat them. 

On my first day I got the pleasure to visit Botkier's NoLita Boutique in Soho. The shop has the perfect amount of pieces and the newest fall items are both gorgeous and a necessity. I could not keep my hands off the newest Ava cross body bag the leather was rich and felt like buttery in my hands. It is definitely the first handbag I am adding to my new fall wardrobe.
