Best In New York; Brazilian Manicures

sweater, j.crew; skirt, dvf; shoes, tibi (similar); bag, mulberry

Through my 'Best In New York' series I want to share with my readers all the things that I love, visit, and do in New York City (thoughts?). I wanted to start this for myself as well to get out of my cozy little neighborhood of Chelsea and explore new places, restaurants, and parks that are only a train ride away. Nothing is constant in the concrete jungle that I call home and I want to share my encounters and favorites with you. I'm starting my first post with the best Brazilian Manicure (yes Manicure). One of my close friends is Brazilian herself and finds the best of the Brazilian World in NY. After she talked countless times of how amazing J Sisters left her nails, I knew I had to try it myself. I have to agree this is the best manicure my nails have ever had. The salon is stacked with headshots and thank you notes from all different celebrities and I kept waiting and hoping that one would walk through the door.

The manicure itself takes about an hour after carefully and painlessly removing your entire cuticle, which gives your nails a lighter more clean feeling. The whole process was so relaxing that I could have sat there for another hour. J Sisters is definitely on the top on my list for manicures and Ceia Crema is the manicurist to see. Thanks for having me !!

The Power of Leopard

dress, clutch, & shoes; dvf; sunglasses, miumiu

Leopard is a powerful print. It changes a simple black maxi dress to a sexy date night one. Whenever I want to feel a little bit sexier I always add a piece of leopard and a red lip.

White Crop Top

While in Greece my sister and I played around with different outfits and cameras. I miss playing dress up with her and having double the amount of clothes to choose from. I can't wait to start incorporating this crop top into my fall wardrobe.

A Black Belt

dress, alice + olivia; shoes, dolce vita; belt, dvf; bracelet, j.crew; sunglasses, miumiu

A belt does it all. I actually stole this belt off another dress of mine and pair it with almost everything. Sometimes it's hard to see what accessories you do have because they are attached to other pieces. I strip all of my clothing of it's accessories so I can make use of everything in my closet. Sorry DVF dress that you once belonged to, you may never get this belt back ;).

Almost Fall

dress, parker; shoes, dolce vita via nordstrom; bag, dvf; sunglasses, chanel
I'm found myself slowing transforming my outfits from summer to fall as I can't seem to let summer go. This will be an Indian Summer for me for sure. These Dolce Vita shoes are my favorite for the transitioning season, the ankle dresses up a bare leg but the toes are still covered.

Beach Waves

headband, forever21; necklace, bcbgmaxazria; jumpsuit, club monaco; shoes & sunglasses dvf

The best thing about being on a beach vacation is there is no need (or time) to do your hair. The salty air plays with your hair perfectly. I always pack a headband when I travel to make an easy hair day look playful and styled.

Greek Ruins

jumpsuit, tj maxx; sunglasses miumiu; shoes, dvf

While in Greece we visited the Acropolis in Athens. The views were breathtaking and it's hard to believe my ancestors built such a beautiful structure. I climbed the cobble stone steps the same way they would, in gladiator flats. They were surprisingly comfortable, allowed my feet to breathe, and didn't leave any blisters (not to mention look so much cuter than sneakers).

Starting Again With a LWD

dress and necklace, bcbgmaxazria (both on sale); shoes dvf; sunglasses, miumiu

Wanting to get back into my blog after taking a hiatus, I thought the best place to dive into it head first was back in my Greek roots. No place makes a white dress more elegant and a girl more tan.

Pops of Pink

coat & sweater, dvf; jeans, jbrand; boots, rag&bone; bag, mulberry; sunglasses, tom ford

Running errands in my favorite leopard print jeans. The print spices up your Sunday outfit from boring and lazy (which is how I usually feel on a Sunday) and is perfect for getting afternoon bloodys.

Hello Monday.

For some reason I love Mondays; the feeling of pressing the re-start button to your week and having another weekend to look forward to. In an easy effort to get out of the apartment I took my lounge pants to the streets. A  sweater and low booties transformed my silk pants to city appropriate. It was my first time using my Joby Gorilla Pod and I have to say I like it. It's so easy to use and you can take blog photos hands-free.

Pony Hair

shoes, diane von furstenberg zias

With my Olympus camera (my favorite birthday present) in the repair shop for over a month. I felt as though pictures with any other camera was not up to par for my blog and its viewers.  It gave me a chance to focus on myself and everything going on in my now so busy life. Since then I have moved to a new apartment, had life changing thoughts about my life and career, and focused on me time. Now that I have my camera back I'm ready to dive back into blogging head on.

Pony hair. I have been obsessed with it's arrival since pre-fall fashion shows and my closet keeps on growing with different styles. They had an edge to any outfit whether it be jeans, black pants, or a dress. These shoes are the second piece of pony hair that I've added to my closet this season and I wear them with endless possibilities.

My Place

vest, pants, pumps, bag, dvf; top, anthropolgie; bangles, david yurman; sunnies, tom ford

This gazebo by the water is my spot when I go home. With the crazy city that I live in it's great to remember the relaxing place that I am from. Since the weather is starting to get cooler I have been drawn to blacks and whites. I wore my pony hair leopard pumps to break up the dull colors. I have been addicted to anything leopard and pony hair lately my closet is just full of it.

Just A Slip

dress, diane von furstenberg; sandals, havianas; sunnies, prada

There is nothing like the sand beneath your feet. I lived in this dress all week, during the day it was a easy beach cover up by taking out the slip and viola - a beach cover up. For night I just re-attached the slip added my favorite wedges and it's the perfect dress. It's a complete two for one. Before my trip to Miami I was longing for the sun but now I am all tanned out. I'm actually now looking forward to the colder months that lay ahead.

Another City

top, j.crew; shorts, topshop; wedges and bag, dvf; sunnies, prada; watch, coach

My time in Miami was short but was completely relaxing and necessary. I forgot about time, schedules and stress. It's fun how you can go from one city to another and get a completely different lifestyle. Recognize my top (seen here) and shorts (seen here) seem familiar? They were the best two pieces I packed both super easy and comfortable, and can be worked into anything. I love how shorts are making a come back and they are not the super casual / lazy equivalent that they used to be.

I'm Back

dress and wedges, dvf; sunnies, tom ford; bracelets, david yurman

I'm back into my blogging thing and it feels so so good. I've really missed spending hours getting lost in the blog-o-sphere and I am so happy to be able to add my fashion input. I got this dress late in the season but I am in love with the colors and patterns. When you find something so great like this you have it wear it as minimally as you can.
