Another City

My time in Miami was short but was completely relaxing and necessary. I forgot about time, schedules and stress. It's fun how you can go from one city to another and get a completely different lifestyle. Recognize my top (seen here) and shorts (seen here) seem familiar? They were the best two pieces I packed both super easy and comfortable, and can be worked into anything. I love how shorts are making a come back and they are not the super casual / lazy equivalent that they used to be.

playing with heat

An unbearable heat wave took over the city this weekend. Even though I tried my best to keep hydrated and stay in as much as possible I had to sneak outside for some photos. During the un-breathable heat black was probably not the smartest pieces to wear, but low front made me feel the closest to naked that I could be. The only thing that I like about the heat is that my hair can get as curly as it can while still looking put together. I love when you have an excuse to be all natural - thank you heat!
Tonight, I'm en route to Boston to be with my family for a few days. I am so happy to have some time off to just relax and spend quality time with them!

melting

outtake from previous post

Melting. The sun has been scorching for the past week hitting over 100 degree Fahrenheit. It leaves for an unpleasant summer day and hot summer nights. I'm ready for a cool front to come in and save me from the heat.

Party In The Back

I'm never really a fan of the element of surprise; my boyfriend can vouge for me. My days are packed with multiple schedules and if something isn't there it isn't happening. Without my schedule my life feels like an utter cluster and complete mess. I'm trying to work on being less organized and enjoying things as they come, but when it comes to clothing surprise can be a good thing.

cant get enough

When I love something I find myself wearing it over and over again no matter how many options I have. For example; my new Chloe sunnies (that I got super cheap at the Nordstrom half-yearly sale) I must have over ten pairs of sunglasses but I am constantly reaching for these ones when I step out for the day. I love how the size over powers my face but the small details give them a feminine touch. This picture was shot by my bestie Jess of Hell or High Fashion during my goodbye over coffee on Newbury Street in Boston. Even though it's only been two weeks since then both of our lives have become so different.

Playing With The Sun

The sun made a small appearance all month long as if we were playing a game of hide and seek. During the day it continues to play peek a boo, coming and going as it pleases. Currently, I feel like I am not living in Boston but in some gloomy place that I must escape from. I cannot wait for when the sun is here to stay for a while.

Warming My Soul

The sun has the amazing power to warm me completely to my soul. I am such a happier person when the sun is there during the day to warm everything. I guess you could call me solar powered. I took these pictures during my weekend home at my favorite lake spot. I like my weekend attire to be completely casual to help me (and my mind) relax and recharge for the upcoming week.

The Brutal Winter

These Sam Edelman shoes are my favorite because they remind me of Sergio Rossi shoes. They were a pain to walk in at first but ever since I wore them in a little they have been amazing.

Words can not even describe how brutal the winter has been in Boston especially for a blogger. It has driven me into a blogging limbo lately. I have no motivation to bare the chilly days, lack of sun, and mile-high snow mounds for a couple shots of my outfits. I finally got the courage to brave the weather today and even though it wasn't as sunny as I hoped the weather was nicer than it has been for weeks.

For those of you who follow my twitter you already know that I recently got invisiline. Even though I have only had them for a month I can already see the changes in both my smile and my teeth. I am so happy with the results thus far and it can only get better & straighter!

Additional Layers

I am utterly sick of adding layers to my outfits for warmth. It's like my identity is lost underneath every layered piece.
Without many words (and thousands of pictures to prove it) these boots are definitely my-go to winter piece. They add a wonderful color to any outfit and can be styled two different ways; laced up for my edgier days and folded down for my more chic days. Today I was feeling edgier trying to concur the snow.

Casual Fridays

I treat almost everyday as if it was a casual Friday. I don't know if it's the weather or my laziness is just hitting full force, but I love spending my days in just leggings and an over-sized sweater (sometimes even the same one). This is one thing I truly love about the weather getting colder - you can bundle up and be lazy with no judgment!

P.S- my Beso giveaway is going on until Sunday.. I would completely participate if I could!

Green Effect

More and more I have been finding myself bearing the cold in chunky sweaters, hoping it will make the fall last longer. Guess what? It doesn't. I find myself freezing by the end of the day. Recently I was gifted these Diane von Furstenburg green suede boots and have been in love from day one. Even though they are higher than shoes I would normally wear, they are comfortable enough to wear all day {I wore them for six hours straight yesterday!}. Another plus is that they are a unique addition to my heel collection, which I am trying to build upon.

P.S. Happy Halloween!

Clean & Simple

dress, j.crew; wedges, coach; bracelet, tiffany&co

The summer reminds me of crisp whites and simple but clean pieces. I love throwing on sun dresses with small details to lounge around the house or run errands. When the summer can be so simple why not dress the part?

Bows

It probably isn't hard to tell that I have a slight huge obsession with bows this summer. As soon as I put a piece on that has a bow it instantly changes my mood and makes my outfit that much brighter. Bows can be piled on top of each other and used in all different ways so its always fun and inspiring. Do you love bows this summer?

Summer Sash

I have to admit I am in love with almost every trend out this summer; the clogs, wedges, turbans, one shoulders, I could really go on and on. My Coach scarf really has been in chameleon for each season and trend since I have already used it as a turban (here) and recently transformed it into a sash for my one-shoulder dress. What is your favorite piece to mix & match?
